When Dan asks Bruce what he really thinks about kickboxing, Bruce explains: “The problem with them, is they are the John L. Sullivan with their legs, I mean, no finesse! I saw it in Thailand first hand; the Bantam Weight Champion, you know, one of the stuntman, I’ll show em”…(Bruce suddenly stops).”
So we do know that there was indeed a Thai Boxer Champion on set of the Big Boss as Bruce refers to him as a “stuntman”, who was also a Bamtom weight Thai boxer Champion.
The last three words of the above quote also have me asking questions when Bruce says, “I’ll show em!”.
Is Bruce referring to himself showing them or is this something that the Thai boxer may have said to Bruce. Dan Lee then goes on: “If they manage to step in and wrap the rear of your thigh, that hurts and that’s usually what they do to cause the other opponent to completely give up!”
Bruce Lee replies: “Well, not all of them, they do that; you know, you can do that when you are stationary, but not when you are constantly moving”, (followed by Bruce whistling)
Is Bruce hinting towards something there? It appears to be an open-ended statement which could implied something either way, this last sentence on the matter ever recorded, is then punctuated with whats may be, a whistle of recognition or dismissal?
